Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, these garments are made with preloved vintage and second garments and textiles. As such they may show signs of age from storage and/ or wear related use, all idiosyncrasies form part of the garments story and add to its unique charm and may include the likes of any markings, discolouration, stitch marks or visible mending. Please refer to the photos and description on each product for their individual product details, anything major will of course be highlighted.

Worn vintage and second hand items are thoroughly washed prior to repurposing.

You can either follow me on Instagram @recut__room or sign up to the newsletter (at the bottom of the page) to find out about product releases.

Please note the jackets are one of a kind items remade from already existing garments. As such each piece will fit differently and is sized individually.

Although initially designed to be an oversized fit, each piece will suit a range of sizes depending on your preference - you may choose to wear more fitted or more oversized.

These items are sized by their metric measurements so you can select the best one to fit your style.

Also… no gender is assigned to these pieces… if it fits… it works.

For help on fitting you can take some measurements either of yourself or a favourite jacket that you like the fitting of.

The best way to measure your jacket is to lie it on a flat surface and take the following measurements where necessary; shoulder to shoulder, armpit to armpit, waist to waist and hip to hip. You can double these measures for the full circumference.

You can use the measurements you have taken to compare against each individual item. For a more oversized fit look for lots of room between the measurements you have taken of your body and the sizing on the garment.

I understand this can be tricky to feel sure on so please get in touch (hello@recutroom.com) if you have any questions and I will be happy to help.

Yes this is possible! I like to document each of the pieces progress through Instagram as they are all unique, so if you see a piece that catches your eye and wish to reserve please drop me a message to discuss.

I may be able to make some small tweaks but this will have to be examined on a case by case basis and there may be extra costs involved. The best thing to do is get in touch with your request and we can go from there.

I would love to, but not right now.

However I may have one already in process that might work for you and always welcome enquiries so do get in touch and hopefully I can help!

Different vintage textiles, from silk to denim to embroidery, require different levels of care so each product description will clearly state how to look after your unique item.

As a general rule - hand wash cool, spot treat stains, do not use bleach and dry flat – any questions please get in touch!
