Hand Quilted 1970s Army Jacket
This warm, one of a kind, quilted jacket is remade by hand from repurposed vintage and second hand textiles.
A vintage army shirt from the 70s has been completely un-made in order to be remade into this piece. The buttons and buttonholes have been kept as original.
It features a striped machine quilted outer layer with interlining that sandwiches a layer of fine, but warm, autumn weight cotton wadding. There are 2 chest pockets with button closures that have each been quilted and lined before being stitched back in place.
The piece is finished by a triple row all over hand quilted cross stitch using a fine off white cotton embroidery thread, a process which takes many hours to complete.
The hand finished lining has been cut from a soft striped vintage brushed cotton sheet and given interior patch pockets which keep the original edge detailing. As always, the garment is stamped to show it is a repurposed item with all original labels included for reference.

- Preloved Information
Items are made with preloved vintage and second garments and textiles. As such they may show signs of age from storage or wear related use including the likes of fold lines, discolouration, markings, repair work and stitch marks. I think these imperfections all add to the uniqueness and charm of the garments story and I hope you think so too!
Please refer to the photos and of course anything major will be highlighted in the description above.
